How to choose the right one
Three questions that determine which chemical cabinet you need
What products will be stored?
Oils, cleaning agents, paints and adhesives: a chemical cabinet with liquid-tight shelves. Flammable liquids: the cabinet is not fire-rated, so check which requirements apply first.
How many levels do you need?
Four shelves are enough: the cabinet as delivered. Several products that must be kept apart: add extra liquid-tight shelves.
Who should have access to the contents?
Authorised staff only: keep the cabinet locked with the espagnolette lock. Place the cabinet away from staff areas and foodstuffs.
Frequently asked questions
What is a chemical cabinet?
A lockable storage cabinet for chemical products. It has lipped, liquid-tight shelves that collect liquid if a container leaks, so the spill does not spread to other products or onto the floor.
How much do the shelves hold?
Each shelf holds approximately 12 liters of liquid in the event of a leak and supports up to 50 kg. Full dimensions are given on the product page.
Can we store flammable liquids in the cabinet?
The cabinet is not a fire-rated safety cabinet. Special requirements may apply to flammable liquids, such as fire-rated cabinets to EN 14470-1. Check the safety data sheet and the rules that apply to your business.
Are tools needed to assemble the cabinet?
No. The cabinet is delivered unassembled in a flat pack and is assembled without screws or tools.
Can we buy additional shelves?
Yes, extra liquid-tight shelves are sold separately if you want more storage levels in the cabinet.
In depth
More about chemical cabinets: shelves, locks and use
Oils, solvents, paints, cleaning agents and other chemical products need to be stored in an orderly way and separately from the rest of the operation. A chemical cabinet gives chemicals a fixed, lockable place, reduces the risk of spills and makes it easy to see what is in stock.
Liquid-tight shelves that contain leaks
Each shelf is shaped like a tray with raised edges. If a container leaks, the liquid stays on the shelf instead of running down onto the products below or out onto the floor. The shelves hold approximately 12 liters and can be adjusted in height to suit both small bottles and larger canisters. Extra shelves fit the same cabinet.
The cabinet in brief
The chemical cabinet measures 1,950 x 920 x 420 mm and is made from powder-coated sheet steel in grey, RAL 7035. Four adjustable, liquid-tight shelves are included. The cabinet locks with a three-point espagnolette lock and is delivered unassembled.
Keeping chemicals in order and under control
The employer is responsible for ensuring that chemical hazards are handled and stored safely. A lockable cabinet makes it easier to keep chemicals separate from foodstuffs, staff areas and unauthorised persons. Label the cabinet and keep the safety data sheets close at hand. Always check what applies to the products you handle.
Flammable liquids
Chemical cabinets are intended for the general storage of chemical products and are not fire-rated safety cabinets. Special requirements may apply to flammable liquids, such as fire-rated cabinets to EN 14470-1. Check the products' safety data sheets and the applicable rules before choosing your storage.
Where are chemical cabinets used?
In workshops and vehicle bays for oils, lubricants, degreasers and screenwash. In warehouses and production for process chemicals, adhesives and paints. In property management and cleaning services for cleaning and disinfection agents. If you also need to keep your keys in order, you will find key cabinets among our cabinets.
