Impact protection for manufacturing: protect machines, lines and people from forklifts and AGVs.

In manufacturing, a collision rarely stops at a dent – it often means downtime and lost production. Here are the five risk zones in a factory, the products that usually solve them and what to know before you order.

Steel or polymer?

The most important choice in a factory.

Steel

Lowest price, very strong. Passes the force on to the floor and may need replacing after a hard impact. Right where impacts are rare.

Polymer (FLEX+)

Gives way and returns to shape, gentle on floors, machines and forklifts, tested to PAS 13:2017. Right where impacts are frequent.

Rules that apply in manufacturing

The employer has to assess the risks of vehicles and people in production.

Workplace safety rules require you to identify where forklifts, AGVs and people meet and to prevent collisions. Physical protection and separated walkways are among the most common measures. The rules don't approve individual products – it's the placement in your factory that decides. Read more about standards →

Common questions about manufacturing
Can the protection be adapted to our layout?

Railing and FLEX+ are modular and are built to the lengths you need. Send a sketch and we'll calculate the parts.

Which fixings do we need for concrete?

It depends on the product and the surface. We suggest the right fixings in the quote, and they're listed under Mounting on each product page.

Can you come and take a look?

No, we're a pure online shop. A photo and a rough sketch are almost always enough for a good proposal – and that keeps prices down.
